The comic book and the films
Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, is a comic book superhero born from Stan Lee's imagination for Marvel Comics. He first appeared in the Tales of Suspense # 39 comic book in 1963 and had his own comic book from 1968.
Tony Stark is a man without supernatural or superhuman power, but made overpowered by high-tech armor he designed. The armor gives Tony Stark superhuman strength and endurance and is equipped with multiple weapons, sensors and electronic systems.
In 2008, the film Iron Man from Marvel Studios and played by Robert Downey Jr., was a worldwide success in the cinema and would become the cornerstone of what would become the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
We discover the wealthy Tony Stark in an origin story, his fights against his friend and associate, Obadiah Stane who became Iron Monger. The second part will integrate Whiplash and War Machine. Iron Man will join the Avengers, the superhero team imagined by Nick Fury and of which Iron Man will become the leader. He will also fight the Mandarin.
Iron Man appears in Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War, respectively. (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
