Ghostbusters is an American film by Ivan Reitman, released in 1984.

Based on a story written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, the film stars three New York scientists, Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz and Egon Spengler, who start a paranormal investigation company in New York called Ghostbusters.

The three doctors buy an old abandoned fire station, which they renovate and set off to hunt paranormal phenomena all over New York City at the wheel of the Ecto 1, a white Cadillac equipped with the equipment of ghost hunters.

The three scientists become local stars. However, they also attract the attention of Walter Pen, a member of the environmental protection commission who will try to shut down their activity.

At the same time, Dana Barrett, a cellist, discovers that paranormal events are happening in her apartment in Central Park West. Anguished, she asks the Ghosbusters for help. Doctor Peter Venkman, attracted by the young woman, takes charge of his business.

Joined by a fourth member, Winston Zeddemore, the Ghostbusters become the city's only hope in the face of the threat of Gozer, a Sumerian god who tries to enter our world through a dimensional portal placed at the top of the building. where Dana and her next-door neighbor, Louis Tully live.
