Description

Spirou et Fantasio : Spirou, Mystère à Champignac Statue, size approx.33cm. Official product in limited edition of 290 pieces by Fariboles Productions.

The visual I drew on had it all! Everything Franquin knew how to do with a few strokes of a pen: a costume with elegant, clean lines, a dynamic, lively posture, an almost indistinguishable expression, between shyness and concentration... a simplicity in the line and an immense richness in the final rendering!

So I did everything I could (perhaps even more for this project than for previous ones) to let myself be guided by the drawing, to be a transparent and respectful interpreter. To let the spirit of the character shine through as much as possible, without adding anything, but without taking anything away either... a kind of contemplative exercise.
