Old Gods of Asgard, also known as "Poets of The Fall", are once again part of the video game world!

The forthcoming album, "Rebirth - Greatest Hits", includes four tracks already released digitally and four new songs, three of which are featured in Remedy's "Alan Wake 2" game. The game is scheduled for release on October 27, 2023.

It combines gameplay with real action material and features many familiar actors from Finland and abroad. The game continues the story of writer Alan Wake, which began in the first "Alan Wake" game in 2010. Marko, Olli and The Captains of the Poets of the Fall appear for the first time in "Alan Wake 2" as characters from the band Old Gods of Asgard. 

Songs from the album have played an important role in several Remedy games (Alan Wake, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Control and Alan Wake 2), deepening the story or creating memorable scenes. For example, the band Old Gods of Asgard is a collaborative creation of Remedy's Sami Järvi and Poets of the Fall, first heard in the "Alan Wake" game in 2010. The band has its own history, story and mythology within the Remedy gaming universe. The songs' lyrics are closely linked to the game's plot and provide clues for players. The band was last heard in Remedy's 2019 game "Control", the unique song "Take Control" being the first interactive rock song that changes with the game's situation during a long battle scene. The entire collaboration with Remedy began in 2003 with the game "Max Payne 2", which featured the band's first song, the hit "Late Goodbye". It won the "Grammy of the video game world", the G.A.N.G. Award for best pop song in a video game.
