"My dream: to be a bird, to be able to fly...".

No, it's not Bill who says this, but Roba, our heroes' father, in the album "Boule et Bill en famille". 

It's on their way to school that Boule suggests an eccentric leash outfit for his faithful companion.

The complicity that unites our 2 friends is airy and, despite appearances, doesn't hang by a thread. 

With his hands in his pockets and a confident stride, the little redhead nonchalantly tows his mutt-like airship, which, with its nose in the air, confidently checks the reliability of its inflation. The joy of a surprising and incongruous stroll, a furtive image of childlike happiness - what fun!

This optimistic, benevolent figurine is indispensable, reminding us at every moment why we need to fight bad moods and how to avoid them by levitating.

The inspiration for this statuette came from Roba's beautiful drawing for a poster in the Journal de Spirou (n°1708, January 7, 1971). This visual was also featured on the cover of the essential monograph "L'art de Roba" (by Christelle & Bertrand Pissavy-Yvernault. Dargaud, 2019).

For this piece, we had a double challenge:

• To find the trick that would allow a discreet point of contact between Bill and Boule, while remaining faithful to Roba's drawing and fully preserving the sensation of seeing Bill floating in the air.
• Finding the technical solutions to make the digital modeling a reality, with Bill levitating once again.

When we began this project with David, we knew that the risk was that we wouldn't succeed; if the desired effect wasn't achieved and/or if the technical constraints didn't allow us to produce this visual, then the whole project would fall apart. This statuette would never have seen the light of day.
